Lücke. 1. Begriff: In einer geschlossenen Volkswirtschaft die Differenz zwischen geplanter ⇡ Investition und geplantem ⇡ Sparen bzw. dem Unterschied zwischen Gesamtausgaben für Konsum und Investition (monetäre Nachfrage) und Gesamteinkommen (Geldwert des Angebots).
- 2. Fälle: a) Ist die geplante Investition größer als das geplante Sparen, d.h. die monetäre Nachfrage größer als das monetäre Angebot, so ergibt sich eine inflatorische Lücke (Inflationary G.). Die Expansionstendenz des Einkommens bedeutet in diesem Fall eine Gefahr für die Geldwertstabilität (Inflationsgefahr), wenn die Entwicklung vom Zustand der Vollbeschäftigung ausgeht. Die Gefahr entfällt weitgehend bei unterbeschäftigten Ressourcen.
- b) Ist das geplante Sparen größer als die geplante Investition, die monetäre Nachfrage also kleiner als das monetäre Angebot, so ergibt sich eine deflatorische Lücke (Deflationary G.), d.h. die Tendenz zur Einkommenskontraktion.
